Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston was conceived in a musical family on 9 August 1993, in Newark New Jersey. Whitney is the cousin of daughter to singing superstar Dionne. Her mother and she started singing professionally in the church of New Hope Baptist of Newark at the age of 15 years old. The two sang backing vocals on Chaka Khans 1978 track Im Every Woman. The singer went on to sing backing vocals for Jermaine and Lou Rawls as well as her own mother. She also did a brief stint as a model appearing on the cover of Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. The singer began her career as a featured vocalist for the funk group from New York, Material in the year 1981. The Whitney album followed in 1987 and the singles How Do Broken Hearts GO and I Wanna Dance With Somebody helped to build on the success of her first album. But it was it was the 1992 film The Bodyguard that solidified her standing as one of the most well-known performers. The film and her part in it were not very popular, however the music and her interpretation to Dolly's I Will Always Love You was a hit for a few months in the charts, and she sold more than 44 million singles and albums across the globe. In 1993, it was also when she got married Bobby Brown, an ex-New Edition singer who gave her only child Bobbi Kristina Brown. About this time her well-documented addiction to drugs began. By 1996, she was using drugs daily.

Dana Bash (also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz) is a CNN anchor and political reporter.
