Emily Bett Rickards, born on the 24th of July 1991 in Canada, is a Canadian actor, best known for playing Felicity Smoak in The CW TV series Arrow. Rickards was born and raised in British Columbia. Starting her professional path from a young age she was introduced to dance and theatre hoping to eventually becoming more involved in acting. When she graduated early from high school, she attended Vancouver Film School and completed the Acting Essentials course. The audition was an open audition after having completed her course. This was the catalyst for her getting signed by an agent. Alida Vocal Studio, Vancouver is where she studied. Originally signed as a one-episode guest, her rapport with show's co-star Stephen Amell coupled with positive response from the fans and her sarcastic quips led to her first being signed as a recurring co-star in the rest of the first season.
